UniHomes is seeking a Junior IT Operations Engineer to support their internal IT and Security team. This placement-friendly role focuses on executing pre-designed security controls and policies across a Microsoft 365 environment, with hands-on experience in IT operations, cloud administration, and security monitoring. You'll work directly with the Cyber Security Manager, who will mentor you through real-world IT and security delivery.
What you’ll do
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, applying configuration changes and managing Conditional Access policies
- Monitor security alerts and dashboards across EDR, identity, and email platforms, flagging anomalies for investigation
- Build automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash to streamline repetitive operational tasks
- Manage endpoint provisioning, patching and hardening across Windows and macOS devices
- Collect and maintain compliance evidence and keep device, application and access registries current
Eligibility
- Undergraduate on a placement or sandwich year, or early-career professional new to IT operations
- Interest in practical security and IT operations delivery
- Willingness to learn Microsoft 365, cloud security and automation tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with a security-focused team and respond to operational priorities
