British Steel seeks an Area Technical Manager to join the steelmaking operation in Scunthorpe. You'll work alongside manufacturing and improvement teams to oversee process stability, quality standards and operational efficiency across your designated area, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll do
- Monitor process performance and investigate technical issues as they arise
- Analyse quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Managers and Improvement Engineers on process optimisation
- Develop and maintain technical standards, operating procedures and codes of practice
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and customer specifications
- Support safe and efficient production of steel products
Eligibility
- Technical expertise in steelmaking or related manufacturing processes
- Ability to analyse data and solve process-related problems
- Understanding of quality management systems and regulatory compliance
- Experience working within manufacturing or production environments
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
