Advanced Design Technology
Advanced Design Technology is seeking interns for their Turbomachinery Engineering Department. You'll work alongside experienced design engineers on the full lifecycle of turbomachinery components, from initial sizing through to detailed aerodynamic and hydrodynamic analysis and component optimisation. The role offers hands-on experience with industry-standard design and CFD tools.
What you’ll do
- Support the senior turbomachinery design team across all stages of component design and analysis
- Conduct preliminary sizing evaluations and detailed flow analysis within turbomachinery packages
- Identify and quantify aerodynamic and hydrodynamic losses across components
- Contribute to component redesign efforts aimed at improving performance
- Work with TURBOdesign Suite and other commercial turbomachinery analysis software
Eligibility
- UK or EU citizenship, or a valid UK Work Permit
- Studying or graduated from Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Completed university coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
- Completed courses covering turbomachinery principles
- Minimum 6-month availability for the internship
- Experience with commercial CFD software (Fluent, CFX, STAR-CCM+) is advantageous
