DE Shaw & Co is a global investment and technology firm seeking talented individuals for a 12-month systems administration placement within its infrastructure team. You'll work on diverse technology platforms supporting the firm's operations, collaborating across engineering teams in a collegial environment. The role runs from June 2027 to June 2028.
What you’ll do
- Manage and support Windows and UNIX systems, mobile devices, and enterprise storage solutions across the firm's infrastructure
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve system problems through critical analysis and research
- Deploy and maintain both on-premise and cloud-based services alongside other engineering teams
- Develop automation tools and process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Collaborate with global colleagues to solve technical challenges and deliver infrastructure solutions
Eligibility
- Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise environments (on-premise and cloud platforms)
- Demonstrated interest in technology and process improvement, such as prior internship, university IT helpdesk experience, personal projects, or strong academic track record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse global teams
- Ability to apply analytical thinking and research to tackle unfamiliar technical problems
- Student or recent graduate eligible for a 12-month industry placement (subject to your institution's placement terms)
