The University of Bath is recruiting a Research Assistant for a cancer biology project focused on understanding and targeting pancreatic cancer through novel molecular techniques. You'll work on identifying new therapeutic targets by screening peptide libraries in cancer cells, gaining practical experience across molecular biology, cell culture, and drug discovery.
What you’ll do
- Build and screen genetically encoded peptide libraries in cancer cell models to identify promising therapeutic compounds
- Conduct mammalian cell culture work and cell-based screening experiments
- Generate and validate plasmid libraries and perform proteomics analyses
- Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of findings
- Prepare figures, reports and maintain detailed research records
Eligibility
- Highly motivated researcher with strong interest in molecular biology and cancer research
- Practical experience or keen aptitude in cell culture and molecular techniques
- Ability to contribute to experimental planning and data analysis
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail in record keeping
