Macfarlanes is a top-tier law firm specialising in private capital, private wealth, M&A and disputes. This two-week vacation scheme offers penultimate-year students a practical introduction to trainee solicitor life, with exposure to real client work, multiple practice areas, and firm culture through workshops and social events.
What you’ll do
- Work on genuine client matters under the guidance of an Associate supervisor across two different practice groups
- Participate in a mock transaction negotiation exercise running throughout the fortnight
- Attend introductory sessions on the firm's practice areas, business development and international strategy
- Engage in networking and social events with staff and fellow participants
Eligibility
- Currently in at least your penultimate year of an undergraduate degree
- Any degree discipline welcome; law background not required
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, genuine interest in law and motivation to build a career in private capital, private wealth, M&A or disputes
- Must apply during the specified window (3–28 August 2026 for the winter scheme)
