D. E. Shaw & Co. is a globally recognised investment firm blending rigorous research with cutting-edge technology. This ten-week summer internship (June–August 2027) offers early-career talent the chance to contribute to fundamental investing teams, analysing companies and markets to inform the firm's investment decisions.
What you’ll do
- Research and analyse target companies or industries, conducting thorough due diligence to evaluate investment potential
- Monitor financial news, industry trends, and company reports; synthesise data from multiple sources
- Use analytical tools and platforms to process market data and inform evidence-based investment thinking
- Develop and present original insights and perspectives on emerging investment opportunities
Eligibility
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree (any subject); prior finance experience not required
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with proven ability to work through complex problems
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, investing, or technology (e.g. trading competitions, coding, STEM research, finance clubs, or maths olympiads)
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to communicate ideas clearly
