You'd join the Radiochemistry Group as an Assistant Characterisation Specialist, supporting the Bulk Waste Team in characterising and managing waste from construction and demolition projects, with involvement in regulatory environmental monitoring.
What you’ll do
- Accept and process waste characterisation tasks from customers
- Develop and manage sampling plans for bulk waste assessment
- Coordinate with analytical laboratories and interpret resulting data
- Prepare reports and communicate findings to customers
- Help plan and schedule bulk waste characterisation programme activities
- Support regulatory environmental monitoring work at the site
Eligibility
- Background in radiochemistry, analytical science or related field
- Experience with waste characterisation or sampling methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical data and prepare clear reports
- Strong organisational and communication skills for customer liaison
- Willingness to support national security objectives
