Portsmouth City Council’s Property & Investment team — named Commercial Landlord of the Year 2024 at the South Coast Property Awards — manages a portfolio worth well over £1bn, spanning offices, industrial and retail sites, the International Port and Southsea’s seafront leisure facilities. This is a permanent Graduate Surveyor role in a growing team of graduates and experienced professionals, with support from chartered surveyors towards your RICS APC.
What you’ll do
- Value all types of property
- Generate revenue and capital income
- Carry out commercial landlord-and-tenant work, including rent reviews and lease renewals
- Manage your own portfolio of properties
- Spend around a third of your time out of the office, meeting tenants face-to-face
Eligibility
- Degree (or nearing completion) qualifying for the RICS APC in commercial or valuation disciplines
- Reasonable technical knowledge from study and a practical, common-sense approach
- Full manual driving licence required (pool vehicles available)
- Right to work in the UK — no sponsorship available

- Permanent, 37 hours per week
- Band 7: £32,061–£36,363 per annum
- Location: Portsmouth (hybrid — minimum two days a week in the office)
