C1 Senior Delivery Manager

We are looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to join the Core Delivery Function within Social Security Scotland's Digital, Delivery & Change Division.

The Core Delivery Function sits at the heart of the Division, providing leadership, coordination and assurance to support the successful delivery of change across our digital, operational and business services. As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating complex delivery activity across multiple programmes, products and services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure change is delivered safely, effectively and in line with organisational priorities.

A Senior Delivery Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high risk products and services. The role is similar to a delivery manager role, but senior delivery managers have more experience across a range of products and services, throughout the entire product life cycle, and have greater responsibility and accountability as the main point of escalation.

Responsibilities

• Coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices, championing continuous improvement and innovation.

• Adapt ways of working to meet project requirements and constructively challenge established approaches.

• Manage complex relationships with contracted suppliers, negotiating contractual arrangements that deliver value for money.

• Mediate between stakeholders at all levels, managing expectations and facilitating discussions involving significant risk and complexity.

• Represent the wider community to large internal and external audiences.

• Influence and negotiate budgets within complex environments, contributing to business cases and clearly articulating value propositions.

• Apply expertise across multiple stages of the product lifecycle, identifying key delivery milestones and collaborating with Agile delivery teams.

• Engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, identifying required deliverables and coordinating the appropriate resources to achieve them.

• Optimise team delivery flow by proactively managing complex risks, issues and dependencies, including those with unclear ownership.

• Resolve blockers creatively and effectively to maintain delivery momentum.

• Challenge organisational processes to improve efficiency, adding value through coaching and supporting teams in
